Officer Simon is a character in Season One of the Showtime series DEXTER.
He is a cop who discussed the Cokehead Murders with Dexter Morgan at the crime scene.
Season One[]
- "Dexter"
Officer Simon watches over a crime scene as Dexter examines the blood patterns. The cop listens as Dexter explains how the areas of blood fit together to paint a picture, and he acts out the slashes committed by the killer.
When Dexter says the guy really know how to use a blade, Simon offers that he could be a sushi chef. Dexter acknowledges the answer somewhat jokingly, nearly mocking Simon as his tone changes. Dexter finishes up and hurries out to stalk Jamie Jaworski on his lunch break.
Dialog[]
Simon: “So this killer used a sword?”
Dexter: “Uh, no. Probably a very sharp knife. Look at the blood spatter. Look at the patterns. It tells a story. You see that big pond of blood right there? That’s from the initial stab. The male victim was standing right here, and the killer plunged his knife into the shoulder, severing the carotid artery, and BLPHH! Notice the long, thick, heavy drips?”
Simon: “Yeah, nice.
Dexter: “Now, over here, you have nice, clean sprays of blood, that can only happen when you’re holding something light and moving quick -- nice, sharp slices through the human body. No splashes, no drips. Clean and easy. This guy knew how to use a blade.”
Simon: “So we’re looking for a sushi chef.”
Dexter: “Yeah, sushi chef is possible. Wouldn’t be my first choice, but, hey, you never know.”
Simon: “Now what?”
Dexter: “Now I eat.” (He leaves,)
