Laura Mendell is a character in Season Five of the Showtime series DEXTER.
She's the wife of Dan Mendell, a children's dentist who was secretly a member of the Barrel Girl Gang.
Summary[]
Laura's history prior to marrying Dan is unknown. When Dan was found dead with Lance Robinson, the police initially suspected that a gay tryst had gone wrong. Laura was distraught and felt very naive. She felt that she should have suspected something was up with her husband due to his week long "fishing trips" with his buddies. He called it his "man time."
Later, Detectives Debra Morgan and Joey Quinn talked to Laura while she packed up her husband's dental business, where she had also worked. She described her feelings and her husband's secretiveness. Then the detectives revealed that her husband's death was staged to look like a gay homicide when, in fact, he was a rapist and killer of women. She was devastated by the news, but gathered herself enough to give the detectives Jordan Chase's real name - Eugene Greer. She said Dan and Jordan had been friends for many years. She pointed out an old sailing trophy with both their names on it.
