Hop a Freighter is the 11th episode of the 5th season of Dexter, and the 59th episode aired in total.
Plot
Edit
In this episode, Dexter finds out about the surveillance tapes and audio recordings taken of him and Lumen.
Stan Liddy captures Dexter, and shows him the surveillance tapes. After a struggle, Dexter slowly stabs Liddy in the chest, most likely piercing his heart, as he appears to die instantly after the blade is fully inserted. Quinn shows up afterwards, but remains oblivious to what happened, thinking Liddy has pulled a prank.
Jordan Chase visits Emily Birch, the first victim of The Group, and forces her to lure Lumen into her house, where Jordan awaits to get some answers. After a disagreement, he shoves Emily and Lumen to the ground, grabs a fireplace poker, and proceeds to beat and stab Emily twice, while she is on the ground, until she dies. Lumen manages to escape, but puts up a fight. The fight is not shown, but Dexter realizes what happened in a visit to the house after Lumen stops returning his calls.
The final scene shows Lumen in the trunk of Jordan's car, as Jordan pistol-whips her, while Dexter narrates: "I won't let her die."
Trivia
Edit
- In this episode, Liddy nearly finds out the whole truth of Dexter's Dark Passenger, making him the second one to come close to finding out, without actually knowing everything. He is second only to James Doakes, who witnesses Dexter in the process of tossing the body.
