A Character's Last Words are the final words spoken before their death. Some last words are simply begging to live while others recite quotes that are remembered for ages. Typically when someone has Last Words, it is just before they are killed by someone else...either Murder by a Serial Killer/Murderer or by execution. On certain occasions Suicide can lead to last words, mostly in the form of a note.

In the television series DEXTER, many of Dexter Morgan's victims are given the opportunity to speak before he kills them in his Kill Room. Below is a list of all characters, whether killed by a serial killer or not, that have said something before their death. On certain occasions where someone has murdered them, the killer's parting words to the victim will also be listed.

The information provided for Dexter's victims contains the final words, to read full confessions and all words spoken during each Kill Sequence, refer to Kill Room Confessions.

Dexter and the others prepare to leave Joe's house, when Irma spots Rudy Cooper getting into his car with Debra Morgan.
"Cable repairman! Wait! Wait, no-no don't go! Wait, please I want to ask you something! Wait!". She watches Rudy drive off and then tries to get the attention of Dexter who practically ignores her on the way out. "Yoo hoo! The cable repairman! Did he say anything about my TV antenna? Hello?!" - Irma yells as they ignore her, driving off.

Brian found and killed Monique, leaving her body parts as "Christmas Presents" at a Christmas village along with a video tape. The following are her final words on the tape:

Brian prepares words that she reads off, while hanging upside down. "You arrested the wrong man. Made the world think I'm a rank amateur. And I'm very, very angry. To answer for your mistakes - " Monique begins crying uncontrollably, suggesting the remaining lines spoke of her death. "P-Please...no! Please noo-" - Monique's neck is then slit.

Other DeathsEdit

- Jeremy Downs - A young man responsible for the deaths of several other youths with his unique knife strokes. Dexter originally intended to capture him but saw reason to let him go in feeling that Jeremy was "just like him". Later, when he continued to kill and was caught by the police, Dexter went in to question him on what happened...and gave him some advice. This advice led Jeremy to committing Suicide. This took place during Episode 107: Circle of Friends.

Dexter arrives in the interview room after Jeremy is caught by the police. After some talking back and forth, he tells him the following bit of advice after asking why he killed people that didn't deserve it despite an earlier warning. Jeremy states that he did it to feel something because without killing, he feels absolutely nothing (that also end up being Jeremy's final words in response).
"I'm a lot like you, you know?" - Dexter
"Yeah right. You're a killer?" - Jeremy, this is followed by Dexter looking up at him with a long stare before speaking again.
"I'm empty. But I found a way to make it feel less...bottomless." - Dexter
"...how?" - Jeremy
"Pretend. You pretend the feelings are there, for the world. For the people around you. Who knows, maybe one day they will be." - Dexter.
Later Jeremy would take his own life as he could not pretend any longer, heeding the original advice in killing only those that deserve to die...in this sense, himself.
